Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco has a plan for everything entering the 2024 NFL Draft
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders are about to be very busy this week as they select the future players for the franchise. They could walk away from this draft with the face of their franchise on offense in a new quarterback - one they hope will help them compete in the playoffs.

Or, they could come away with some cornerstone players who play either cornerback or offensive tackle. There are so many possibilities for the Raiders, and they all depend on what happens ahead of them and whether or not they can trade up.

There is a pathway for everything. Sure, it's possible to trade up, but it could cost the Raiders a ton, and we know the Raiders would really like to have Jayden Daniels. But we also know that they may not be able to trade up to pick No. 2, where he will likely go.

So, maybe they want to stay at 13 and take Michael Penix, the quarterback from Washington. Or, maybe the Raiders want to trade back to gain more draft capital. We just don't know. However, we do know that they are ready for anything.

"We have a plan right now to go up if we have to," Telesco said. "We have a plan if we stick and pick, and we have a plan to go back if it's within a certain range. It's been normal this year, like other years. There have been convos with other teams, but it's been about the same."

This is one of the more unknown drafts we have had in years, and we really have no idea what will happen. The only thing we know is that the Chicago Bears are going to draft USC quarterback Caleb Williams first overall.

We will have to wait and find out everything else. The Raiders are ready for whatever happens, though.
