Tom Brady Playing for the Patriots Again? He Says It’s Possible
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots are trying to evaluable which NFL Draft prospect they want to make the new face of the franchise. Meanwhile, another QB made a shocking announcement about his football future. Tom Brady, the greatest football player in the history of the sport, declared he was not opposed to making an NFL comeback. More interesting to Patriots fans, Brady specifically mentioned playing for the team for whom he won six Super Bowls.

VicBlends is a popular online barber with over two million subscribers on YouTube. He gives haircuts while having deep conversations. Tom Brady was a guest this past week on VicBlends’ Deep Cut podcast. Brady got his haircut and talked about several topics. This included a possible return to the NFL.

Would Tom Brady Come Out of Retirement?

The question VicBlends proposed to Brady involved returning to join a team heading to the playoffs in need of an emergency quarterback. Vic used the 49ers as an example.

“Let’s say the 49ers maybe, you know, headed to the playoffs. Offense is great,” the host began.

“Patriots,” said Brady interrupting. He then added the team for whom he is a part owner. “Somebody. Raiders could be. You never know.”

“Good forbid somebody goes down, would you pick up that phone?” VicBlends asked.

“I’m not opposed to it,” replied Brady. “If they would. I don’t know if they’re (the NFL) going to let me by becoming an owner of an NFL team. But I don’t know if…I don’t know…

“I’m always going to be in good shape, always be able to throw the ball. So to come in like MJ (Michael Jordan) coming back. I don’t know if they’d (the NFL) let me, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”

Playing for the Patriots Again

It is a safe bet that Robert Kraft would welcome seeing Tom Brady on the field for the Patriots once again. Kraft would do everything in his power to ensure if Tom Brady plays another down in the NFL that it is for the New England Patriots.

Nobody should hold their breath for Tom Brady returning to the field. But based on his competitiveness and desire to do what nobody else has done, it is not an impossibility. With all due respect to Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy, there is no quarterback most New England fans would rather see on the field for them in 2024 than the GOAT. He will only be 47 in the 2024 season. Stay tuned.
