The father of Inter Milan defender Zinho Vanheusden says his son’s future is within the hands of the Nerazzurri.

The Italian giants poached the defender from Standard Liege when he was still a teenager back in 2015.

But after climbing his way up the ranks, the Belgian hasn’t been able to carve himself space in Inter’s first team.

Therefore, he has been constantly out on loan since January 2018.

He had stints with Genoa, AZ Alkmaar and is currently on his third spell at Standard Liege where he could soon make his 100th appearance for the club, which would be a significant feat as his father explains.

“This 100th appearance milestone matters enormously for him,” said Johan Vanheusden in his interview with La Derniere Heure via FcInterNews.

“Not everyone can boast of having worn the Les Rouches shirt a hundred times, and Zinho considers this prospect an honor.”

The Father Of Zinho Vanheusden Admits Inter Milan Will Have The Final Say On His Son’s Future

Standard Liege have the option to buy the defender at the end of the season. However, they lack the financial means to pull off the operation.

Hence, the player’s father admits that Inter Milan will have the final say on his son’s future.

“We don’t have much to say about it. Inter Milan will decide what to do with him.”

This season, Vanheusden has made 21 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League and two outings in the Croky Cup, He didn’t make any direct goal contribution in either competition.

The centre-back represented Belgium through all age groups. However, his solitary senior cap dates back to October 2020.

His contract with the Nerazzurri is valid until June 2026.
